Bigfoot Industries Recreational Vehicles Recalled For Potential Stove Gas Leaks.

Camping is a fun activity that families or individuals can do and keep their distance from others. That is important today, with COVID-19 still wreaking havoc on the world. Folks are tired of staying cooped up inside all the time, but many of them would rather not take big risks and come up sick. That is why camping is such a good idea. People can reserve spots at campgrounds or national parks and take in the great outdoors while avoiding large gatherings.

Some Port Charlotte residents are all about roughing it. They pitch tents, build campfires, catch fish to eat, and more. Meanwhile, other citizens like to bring the comforts of home with them to campsites. Many times, these individuals procure RVs or camping trailers to accomplish that feat. Does the latter option sound like your style? Yes, well, good for you, and there isn't anything wrong with that. People can have excellent adventures out in the woods or on the lake and remain comfortable.

However, travel trailer owners need to pay close attention to this post. Why? There is one particular unit that has an issue, and it can pose a danger to campers. So, without further ado, let's discuss it, shall we?

Bigfoot Industries, Inc., Is Issuing A Recall Beginning February 22, 2021

The recall being covered is for 2020-2021 25b25FB, 25B25RQ, 25B21FB, and 25B21RB recreational vehicles. There are a potential 90 affected units, and the ones in question are equipped with Dometic 3-burner cooking stoves. The devices have saddle valves with securing bolts that may have been overtightened during the installation process.

That might not sound like a huge deal, but it is if the o-ring got damaged. If these rubbers are pinched, cracked, or slit, a continuous gas leak can develop. Campers can get sick from breathing in such fumes. Perhaps even enough that they will need to cut their trips short and seek medical attention at hospitals. Also, when a gas leak is present, that increases the risk of a fire.

All it will take is a small spark from cutting a light on, plugging in an electric cord, or something else for flames to erupt. If that happens, owners and their families can receive severe burns. It is even possible for them to lose their lives in the events if they cannot escape the vehicles. Therefore, people with these units need to get them fixed before catastrophe strikes. For more information on how to do that, they can visit the NHTSA website and look up the campaign number 21V047000.
