Drivers Watch For Motorcyclists When Turning Left - Rider Killed In Crash At Bonita Drive Tuesday Morning

Turning left in front of a motorcyclist is an all-too-common cause of fatal motorcycle accidents. Turning left across traffic is one of the most dangerous moves a driver can make, for themselves but even more so for motorcyclists. Because motorcycles are smaller and less visible than cars, far too often drivers who are not paying attention fail to notice them. When a driver turns left in front of a motorcyclist, the result is usually devastating, causing a collision that can result in serious injury or death.

To reduce the risk of causing an accident when turning left across traffic at any intersection, it is essential for drivers to be extra cautious when turning left. They should take the time to properly check for oncoming motorcyclists and should be prepared to yield to them if necessary.

Motorcyclists should also be aware of the dangers of intersections, and never take it for granted that other vehicles at intersections will see them yield. Motorcyclists should always keep an eye out for drivers that could pull out in front of them as well as a route to try and avoid a crash if they do.

Unfortunately, a motorcyclist was killed at the intersection of old US 41 and Bonita Drive in Lee County by a driver who was making a left turn and failed to notice them before turning left into traffic. This intersection is a particularly dangerous one for motorcyclists, and they should be aware of the dangers and take extra precautions at this intersection and ones like it.

If you or someone you know was injured or harmed after being involved in a motorcycle accident you could be entitled to compensation. Find out today - contact Attorney Brian O. Sutter from All Injuries Law Firm at (941) 625-4878 for your free case review.
