Core Health & Fitness issued a recall on five styles of Inspiration Cable Cross Over and Dual Adjustable Pulley machines. The height adjusting carriage assembly may loosen, causing the unit to fall on the user, which can result in severe personal injuries. Consumers should immediately stop using the equipment, and contact the company's customer service department at 800-598-8541 for a free, on-site repair. The units have a stainless steel finish with Inspiration, Star Trac, or Nautilus printed on them, along with single hand adjustment design and various cable positioning components.
The equipment was sold nationwide, at distributors, with a price tag of anywhere between $2,700 and $8,400. It is notable to mention that the units have been in circulation for awhile, as they sold from November 2010 through April 2017, so they could have easily found their way into your home gym. They may also be lurking in the shadows at a fitness club that you belong too, so be careful, and look at the equipment to see if it is involved in this recall before you begin exercising.
Complaints, Complaints, And More Complaints
Core Health & Fitness has received 48 reports of carriage assemblies loosening and failing, as well as, 31 about injuries with some of the cuts requiring staples or stitches for them to heal properly. The firm is contacting all known owners, but with the units being in circulation for so long many of them may have been resold. There are around 3,600 potential affected pieces of equipment involved, so you must stay vigilant in your quest to stay healthy, happy, and out of harm's way.
